Licensed Associate Professional Counselor
Registered Art Therapist
**Welcoming new clients in
Decatur and Madison offices and via teletherapy!
I am a person centered counselor with a positive, accepting and growth focused mindset. I believe that we are all the authors of our own stories and my goal is to help you discover your power as you move towards a place of healing and personal growth. Using art therapy and mindfulness based techniques, I wish to guide and meet you where ever you are on your journey. I have experience working with clients suffering from addiction, issues with depression and anxiety, low self-esteem, interpersonal relationship difficulties, chronic pain, communication issues, and behavioral concerns.
I often use various art media to aid in the therapeutic process, thus allowing you to explore your feelings, regulate emotions, reduce anxiety, improve self-esteem, foster self-awareness, manage behavior, develop social skills, and improve reality orientation. There is no specific skill set required to participate in art therapy.
The practice of art therapy also allows clients to experience the self-affirming pleasures and often times calming effects of using your personal creativity. Art making in a therapeutic setting is more about the process rather than the product.
