I believe everyone has a story to tell. The way I see it, life is made of the stories we tell ourselves and the stories we tell others. Trauma, depression, anxiety, and substances can influence and interrupt our story, but if we are mindful about who we are and who we want to be, we can put those experiences in their proper place in time and influence. They can exist as something that we went through rather than something that defines us.

 

I believe everyone holds the power to be the person they want to be, no matter their past, no matter their present. My job as your therapist is to assist you in creating the present you want for yourself, so you can build the future you deserve. If you've experienced trauma, abuse, a life influenced by substances, or lived with someone who has, you are carrying an immense burden that can make you exhausted and weigh down everything you do. It's not your fault. AND, if you want to heal, there is a way forward. Whether you're seeking help by yourself or as a couple, let's work together to calm and release your body, mind, and spirit from the past, so you can live a full and bountiful life right now. My extensive training in EMDR enables me to help you heal from trauma or a lifetime of intrusive or unwanted thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. Additionally, I am trained in DBT, Mindfulness-based practices, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and talk therapy, and use these practices to best meet your needs, all while building upon your strengths, so you can be the author of your own story. 

 

I work with adolescents and adults of all ages, genders, and sexualities in a safe, non-judgmental space. Using person-centered and evidenced-based approaches to counseling, I aim to help people who’ve been traumatized by events and experiences, as well as those who are struggling with depression, anxiety, or recovering from abuse - whether it be from another person, substances, or alcohol. I approach all of my clients with empathy and compassion, so you can heal in a way that's rewarding to your individual nature. Everyone has the potential to be the person they want to be. Though trauma, depression, substances, and relationship issues can steer us off course, they don't define us.
